A presentation network consists of a master and any number of clients linked up via a network which serves for transferring the media files and the project configuration from the master to the clients and for syncing playback.
Therefore, you should make sure that there is a functioning network connection between all presentation computers. For this purpose, the Internet protocol (TCI/IP) and the Client for Microsoft networks must be installed. In addition to this it is also important that the computers have a static IP address and the address is not obtained automatically. For information on how to verify or alter this, refer to Static IP addresses in the network.
In Wings Vioso RX set up your multidisplay project or open an existing one and make the following settings:
On the master click category Devices in the Media Pool. Right-click some free space in the right Media Pool section and select Add Client PC. Click on Select computer and choose the corresponding PC. If there is no network connection, you can also enter the IP address manually.
After adding all the PCs you assign the corresponding presentation servers and graphics cards outputs to the displays. In the Media Pool click the plus sign next to category Screens and select the new screen below it. Right-click the line of a display and select Properties.
In field Assignment next to Display PC choose the computer that is to supply content to that display. Next to Monitor select the graphics card output.
Close the dialog by clicking OK and repeat this procedure for the other displays.
After all client PCs have been added and connected to the displays you can open the RX Manager to control the servers in the network and make further settings if necessary. Start by opening the Render Displays by clicking Show Render Displays. If this fails check whether the network has been enabled. Click Enable network if necessary.
In the Media Pool category Devices, right-click Master or Client PC and select Wings RX Manager to make it open up in the Web browser. When you click Server Setup on the left all servers set up in the Media Pool and connected to the displays should be listed. If this is not the case check whether you have assigned displays to all client PCs. Further details on the RX Manager can be found at Wings RX Manager.
If one particular computer is not displayed in the Media Pool when selecting client computers, you can use button Retrieve network configuration to retrieve and update the configuration. See Options - Global Options - Network.
In the Control Panel you can set up control panel fields for multidisplay computers which provide status information. See Show status of master and clients.
