Transferring project files to the clients

For a multidisplay presentation the project and any other data required need to be transferred from the master to the client for a start, e.g. after you have finished programming the project on the master via the screen window.

This is how you transfer the project and the corresponding files to the clients:

Load the corresponding multidisplay project and make sure that the client computers are correctly assigned to the displays in category Screens in the Media Pool.
Make sure that all clients within the presentation network are ready for use and the buttons Enable network on the master are depressed or highlighted in gray.
On the master in the main menu click Multidisplay and Transfer Client Files. Alternatively, you can also press key F7 or click Enable file transfer in the function bar. Data transfer continues as long as button Enable file transfer remains enabled.

The files are transferred in the background and you could actually continue editing during the transfer. Only when button Enable file transfer is released automatically is the data transfer complete. For the transfer to be interrupted, click Enable file transfer for the button to be deselected.
Control panel fields for Master / Client PCs help to control the transfer processes. From the Media Pool Devices, simply drag and drop the PCs into the Control Panel. See also Adding control panel fields. Any transfer errors are indicated in the control panel fields. By double-clicking the field you can open the RX Manager and the corresponding log information.
The data to be transferred to the client computer can be limited, e.g. to all or only the necessary ones. See Options - Project Options - Multidisplay.
If you only present on the master PC the files are not copied to the RX cache as they are already available on that PC. If, however, the files are located on a slower drive or the RX cache on a much faster drive, it would still make sense to transfer the files to the RX cache. For this purpose check the box in column RX Caching.
All the necessary data are saved to D:\RX-Cache on the clients. If you want to use a different drive you can currently only change the path in file user_settings.lua which can be found at C:\ProgramData\AV Stumpfl\Wings RX. This file can be edited using a text editor.
