For very complex shows in particular, a mixdown of all media into a video is the only chance to present without any problems at high quality. Split videos, for example, are required for playback on syncable video players. A multidisplay presentation via video files requires the following steps:
Creating the project and the show ...is in no way different from the usual procedure for multidisplay shows. If there are a few sequences that cannot be run in presentation quality, use Preview mode and reduce the display data for preview so that you can work properly. See Screen Properties.
Creating the split videos for the presentation ...can be done in any format, although we recommend H.264 or WMV format. The latter has the advantage of being able to use a frame rate of 60 f/s even for high resolutions. See also MPEG-2, H.264 or WMV format?
Using Wings Engine RAW for presentations ...use highest quality for picture sequences consisting of uncompressed individual images. See Creating picture sequences.
The principle of video creation is explained in the corresponding topics. Below you will find a few pieces of specific information for multidisplay presentations.
For your show to be played back at full quality without any jerks, split video files need to be created and transferred to the client computers. The basic approach for creating a video is explained in topics Output of Output of videos and Output of Windows Media videos. All methods can be used. But now we would like to talk about the facts that need to be considered additionally:
For video rendering in the Timeline dialog choose All active displays at Display. This creates split videos for all displays and adds a number after the file name. Of course, you can also create the corresponding split video for one particular display by selecting this particular display at Display.
On page Video you may have to choose a preset or profile and finally enter the total output size by clicking on . The pixel values normally correspond to the size of the screen. However, it is also possible to choose different values in the Screen Properties at Video creation, although this may have far reaching consequences for the multidisplay configuration, e.g. distortion, inappropriate overlap, etc. It is also important that the display pixel size can be divided by four. Please bear this in mind when you change screen size or total output size for rendering.
