The Audio FX Module in Wings Vioso RX comes with a number of DirectX PlugIns (sound effects). One short remark to start with: PlugIns certainly appeal to the play instinct and many a person will experiment with extreme PlugIn settings. However, extreme settings are normally unsuitable. Usually, a sound effect is well applied when it is not consciously perceivable. Use the effects cautiously, unless you intend to achieve deliberate alienation of sound.
A note on the Dynamic Effects: Dynamic effects comprise expander, gate, compressor and limiter. These effects may also be considered as dynamic volume control with differing behavior. Although these effects "only" control the volume, they are the most important effects for original sound recordings. Dynamic Effects often require a certain feeling and some patience when it comes to setting the parameters. Take enough time for using Dynamic Effects. As a rule, your recordings can be improved distinctly by using them.
The supplied PlugIns can be found in the submenu "AV Stumpfl". See Effect Manager.
The level display shows the current level separately for the left and the right PlugIn output.
Moreover, this level display also includes a peak value display. Below the left and the right level you can see a text field displaying the highest level achieved. By clicking such a field, the peak level measurement is reset and restarted. If you do so while pressing the SHIFT key, both (the left and the right) peak levels are reset. The corresponding peak level is also displayed graphically as a little dot in the level display.
In addition to this, the current peak level is indicated by a horizontal line. The period that this line is displayed can be adjusted in the PlugIn tab Options. This peak level hold time can be adjusted in steps from 0.1 s to unlimited.
