Avio Manager serves for visualizing the hardware and software modules in the network as nodes and for establishing the connections between the modules. Network nodes nodes are Wings Touch, Wings Vioso RX, Avio Manager itself, Avio Service, as well as any Avio-capable hardware, such as Wings IOboxes.
Important note: Before you link up Wings Vioso RX with other Avio channels you should enable saving of the incoming Avio connections in the Wings Vioso RX project. Otherwise these connections will no longer be available when the program is restarted or the project is opened. See Project Options - Client.
After starting the Avio Manager it starts searching for the network nodes on the local network based on the subnet mask and displays them. If Wings Vioso does not appear, please make sure that is has been configured as “Master”; slaves are not displayed.
The channels of the corresponding network node can by displayed in tree view by clicking the arrows in front of it. After highlighting a channel the connections are available under Connections.
If a connection between two channels is to be established, drag & drop the channel of a node onto another channel of a node. You can also connect several channels simultaneously after highlighting them. See also Connecting and editing channels.
If value ranges of channels to be connected differ, you are requested to choose the type of connection. In many cases Connect scaled, i.e. scaling of the source values to the target range, may be useful. See also Adjusting the value ranges.
If a node is highlighted in red in Avio Manager and marked by UID! this means that there are various Avio resources with the same UID (unique identification). Close them one after the other until there is only one UID. See also What is a unique ID? and Changing the unique ID.
A red dot next to a node, folder or channel is an indication that the incoming connection is no longer available, i.e. there is no sender. Make sure that the sender is available again or delete the connection.
If the value ranges of the channels to be connected differ, they are harmonized by default, i.e. the source values are scaled to correspond to the target values. If necessary, you can choose this option (No scaling or Scale) in the Settings (top of window). See also Adjusting the value ranges.
When you place a checkmark in the Avio Manager in the box next to Show Values the current value of this channel is displayed. See also Displaying and editing channel values.
If you move across an entry in the list with the mouse the details for the Avio resource are displayed.
Using Filter above the list field allows you enter a name or a partial name to reduce the list to the nodes whose name, type or IP address contains this string of characters. Unfortunately, filtering of channels is currently not possible.
Usually, Avio Manager immediately saves any modifications in the background and you don't need to take care of that. But it is also possible to explicitly save a configuration and load it again, e.g. in order to use it on a different computer. See Saving Avio configurations.
By using Avio Scripts, you can now use mathematical and logic functions for operations. See Avio Scripts.
If two devices are to perform identical tasks, e.g. if a presentation system is to be controlled by two tablets with identical user interfaces, you can transfer the connections of one device to the second one and save a lot of time. It is essential that the devices are identical and have identical channel structures. See Cloning connections and Changing the unique ID.
