The Facebook Plugin allows the latest information and news from Facebook pages to be used in the Avio System.
This topic provides information on the following:
Searching for and selecting contents
Before you can use the Facebook Plugin for the first time you need to activate it and set up a Facebook App on Facebook. This requires a Facebook account.
Click the Avio Service icon and select Functional Groups. In the dialog popping up enable this functional group by clicking Facebook following which it is then listed in yellow at the top. Finish by clicking Apply Changes.
Click on the Avio Service icon again and select Configure Facebook... (enabled) following which the configuration dialog appears.
Before you can use the configuration dialog the application must be connected to Facebook first. This requires clicking Log in in the top right-hand corner.
In the window popping up enter App ID and App Secret. For the first-time use, however, the data must be set up on Facebook first. Click on the link get app information or create new apps.
Now Facebook requires a valid account. Enter e-mail address and password and click Log in to log in to Facebook. If you have not signed up for Facebook yet, click on Sign Up to create an account.
In the top right-hand corner click button Create a new App in order to create a new Facebook application. Following this you are asked for the data for the Facebook application. Enter any name and any text below it. Close by clicking Create App ID. In a number of cases you are asked to fill in a security control page. After clicking Send the App is created.
Note: Facebook may ask for a Developer Account. In such a case follow the instructions on the screen; usually you need to enter a telephone number in the course of this process. When selecting Add a New App it is now required to click the link advanced setup.
Now the application must be configured for use with Avio Service. To do so click Settings in the left menu. Following this click Advanced to list the advanced settings.
For OAuth Settings enter a web address under Valid OAuth redirect URIs e.g. http://www.avstumpfl.com. Alternatively, you can also add another address. Close by clicking button Save Changes at the end of the page.
Click Dashboard or Console to get back to the Facebook application. Here you can find App ID and App Secret, which you need to copy and paste into the Services Log in dialog. Note: Click on Show in order to show App Secret for copying into the log in dialog.
If any other address was entered at Valid OAuth redirect URIs apart from http://www.avstumpfl.com you now need to enter the different URL at Additional Settings. Following this click Login to log in as Facebook application.
Avio Service dialog Configure Facebook can be recognized by the Logo and the Link for user login in the top right-hand corner. The latter is optional when you are the creator of the App but should be done anyway as it gives you access to more pages.
For the login as user you need to be entered as developer, tester or administrator in the Facebook application. Alternatively, the application must be marked as active under Status & Review. This is done by clicking on Start a Submission plus a number of further steps. As application creator you can also log in without the application being marked as active.
If you have done all the configuration steps you can open dialog Configure Facebook and login directly.
Click on the Avio Services icon and select Configure Facebook... (enabled) following which the configuration dialog appears.
Under Application click Log in and use App ID and Secret ID of your App to log in. Following this click Log in under Account and log in to Facebook as a user and your user name and image will be displayed. The latter is optional but allows access to more pages. See also item 9 and on under Configuration.
In the field at the top enter a search term and a dropdown list with the results will appear. Select the corresponding Facebook page which will then appear in the window on the left. Add the desired Facebook pages likewise.
When you click a previously added Facebook page on the left its feeds will be listed on the right. Below you can make the settings for display the feeds in the Avio System. Start by clicking Show Feed to make further options selectable. If you activate parts of the feed for display they are highlighted in white. Elements highlighted in black will remain invisible in Avio.
Next to the elements that can be activated by checking them the following options are available:
Blacklist ...allows exclusion of feeds that contain particular terms. The exclusion terms are entered in the field and the Feeds in question will turn red if the cursor is no longer located in the entry field. If you start your selection via Filter Blacklist the corresponding feeds are hidden. Note: The blacklists apply both to Facebook and Twitter. See also Displaying twitter contents.
Display first amount of elements ...displays only the the first feed entries. The number of feeds to be shown is defined at Entries per feed. If all feeds are to be displayed select Display all entries available.
Advanced Settings ...offers the update frequency to be selected and entry of a global blacklist.
Once you have completed all your settings click Save at the right-hand bottom side following which all settings and changes are saved and the dialog is closed.
After opening Avio Manager, Avio Service on your computer shows the port Facebook and its corresponding channels.
