Based on the large original picture files Wings Vioso RX will create smaller picture files and higher resolution display data for screen display. Experimenting with various display data resolutions or optimizating display data following a number of modifications results in numerous picture versions being stored on the hard disk, which may take up a lot of storage capacity. Here is a method which allows you to quickly and simply delete display or texture data:
In the main menu under Media Pool click on Delete all display data and select the media type for deleting display data.
Following this, the corresponding display data of the currently loaded project are deleted and a message appears in the program window info line providing information about the number and volume of files deleted.
Wings Vioso RX deletes the display data currently used in this project. If you enabled a special ICC color profile in the color management options and option Create color-converted display data, only those display data will be deleted. Display data for other color profiles or output devices will be kept. By choosing the color profile in the options you can therefore control deletion of display data for certain color space. See also Options - Global Options - Color management.
Wings Vioso RX automatically recreates any display data required, e.g. when loading a project or, at the latest, when a media file is to be displayed . However, it is also possible to have the display data created separately. See Creating display data for media files.
The display data of individual images can be deleted by right-clicking the image object in the timeline or the image in the Media Pool and selecting Delete display data.
If you are running out of storage space or want to clean up your drives you can delete all display data on the computer or the individual drives by searching for .w5. Following this, all folders are displayed that contain display or intermediate data. Basically, all these folders can be deleted as the data contained can be recreated at any time on the basis of the original data. Note: Before you present a show, you need to consider, however, that the required display data need to be recreated, which takes some time. Information on how to do this can be found under Creating display data for media files.
