Wings Touch is a user interface tool that allows free programming of touch interfaces. The interface elements, i.e. button, slider, indicator, status display, etc. are available as channels in the Avio Manager and can be connected with other channels.
A user interface can be created very simply along the following steps:
After starting Wings Touch select Create New Project following which an empty project is created. Choose the name, the page size and the default font under Properties. See also Creating a project.
At the top in menu Insert you can see the tools for creating the control elements such as buttons, faders, indicators, etc. Internal commands, such as jumps to other pages or control of media fields can be selected after right-clicking the context menu of the corresponding object. The functions of external devices, on the other hand, are linked up via Avio Manager. See also Adding control elements and other objects.
To allow for easier identification in the Avio Manager you should enter meaningful names after right-clicking and selecting Edit Control Name.
After double-clicking an element, menu Format shows up, allowing you to select font format, position of the labeling, frames, fill, etc.
Menu View allows you to enable some help functions for editing, such as grid lines for snapping objects to or the display of the control element names as they appear in the Avio Manager.
In Menu Home you will find the function Copy Template, which allows you to transfer the format of one element to another, in addition to buttons for copying and pasting elements.
Add a new page by right-clicking the Pages area on the left and selecting New page. Usually, the first page is the start page. If you want any other page to be the start page you can right-click the corresponding page icon and select Set As Start Page. See also Adding pages.
In order to link up the elements with functions and test them, click on Start Project (shortcut F5) under Home, following which the project is displayed with a fully functional interface. Start the Avio Manager, leave it open and click Refresh for Wings Touch to appear as network node. Following this you can link up the control elements with the devices and test the functions. See also Wings Avio Manager.
After testing terminate the user interface by right-clicking it and selecting Close Project Preview. Every touch interface, however, should have a button with the command Page Jump To... -> Exit for closing the program (can be selected by right-clicking the button).
